133Interesting. SAR and TPX-- tough on favorites. Surprised KEE not so much. Also, shows as expected, the Win Pct is much higher than 20-30 years ago. Thanks for the research. -

133Public school. The chalkboard pointer stick with the rubber tip across the back of the thighs. Known as "licks". If I remember correctly, two (2) licks for not turning in homework or misbehaving. Gym teacher-- Mr. Barto. First day of class, he read off the rules and punishment like a prison boss man. Like prison, there were still fools who tested the rules.
About 10 days into the new year, there was a knock on the classroom door. Mr. Barto went out in the hallway, came back in and retrieved his trusty pointer stick, and went back out. We then learned that the boss man was also the judge, jury and executioner for other teachers who preferred not to carry out the punishment. The boss man's rules and punishment carried a wide jurisdiction. -

A few observations/questions:
- I am glad you have field size - any data about % winning faves must include it. In particular I think we all should use the PIV column to compare tracks as to how well the favorites do, since it takes field size into account, which the raw fave win% does not
- Would you mind posting a table of the average field size and % winning faves by track? Be interesting to plot the one against the other.
- I don't see KD in the track list - is that intentional?

221. You want to use IV or PIV to compare the different “demographics”. Not hit rate.
2. From 2022-2023, the IVs for favorites dips from April to September. In 2024, April and June were normal (roughly 2.72).
3. Sorry, there’s no field size per track data in this study. But if you have HSH, I’ll help you figure it out.
4. I have no idea what happened to KD. -

KD is a "circuit 0" track. That is, it is a very small or non-standard track.
Most people would not want to include circ0 because it would skew the data.
