With the Saratoga meet ending it seemed appropriate to review my results with DET involved. Most of my bets resulted from output directly from DET based on my use. In short, I struggled in P4's and P5's. I used a conservative contender selection method which failed to meet my expectations. I was left with a few too many contenders and a few too many misses. Meet loses totaled about $2800. I realize that most of you can handle this type of loss without batting an eyelash but for me confidence plays a more important role. I found myself floundering on too many occasions. I also discovered that I understood much less about DET than I realized. Lessons learned.
Despite the results, I am convinced I can turn them around. A review of the result charts revealed that I danced close to some nice tickets that somehow slipped past me. Yet I missed those opportunities. DET has undergone multiple upgrades, and I didn't keep up with them well enough. I found myself leaning on methods that most of you have moved on from upgrades ago. Despite relying on horse racing income as my sole source of funds for years now, I'm lacking confidence. I'm excited about Abby 2 and look forward to progress.
Keep up the amazing work you have been doing!!![/i]
Playing Saratoga's short meet is very difficult to profit from especially if you are playing pick 4 and 5's. The results are difficult to predict with any software program. a friend of mine hit a huge pick 5 payout at Saratoga that made the meet 34K. He told me that two of legs he would never have those winners in a million years b/c of the chaos, so he picked priced horses. He had to go all in 1 leg and 6 horses deep in another. I love Saratoga but I only play a low percentage of my bankroll there. Randomness takes over big time at that track. If you are willing to put up 300/400/500$ on every pick 5 you play, then you can get lucky. Big losing streaks eat away at the bankroll. I looked at probably 12 pick 5's that meet and played 1 of them. Keep grinding b/c one small meet doesn't make your year!
It didn't take for Dave to touch base after I posted about losing during the Sar meet. One has to love that about Dave, he wants all of us to winners. Dave sacrificed his evening to spend two hours with me to review any issues I may be having with DET. No other vendor would offer that type of customer service!!! and my original post stated that I was critical of myself for not working hard enough. I did not say anything negative about DET. I love the direction we are headed and Dave's desire to improve all of our lives. Thanks, Dave, for reaching out to me!! You offer nothing but top notch service and support. Thank you
1. No matter which approach we used, we had almost every race in our top 3, and usually top 2 horses.
That included a couple of $20+ horses and a whole bunch of exactas.
2. The quote you made: "I have never clicked any of the buttons you clicked tonight."
Saturday everyone will have the version Tony saw tonight.
