I have believed for several years now that with a good bet selection and a good money management system, you could beat a 50/50 casino game. Now having said that, I must confess that I have not yet figured out the way to beat said 50/50 casino game, but I keep on trying.
What do you believe? If you gamble other than horse racing are you like Dave’s example of the gambler who goes to gamble once a week with $100 and bets it one dollar at a time hoping to double his $100 or lose it all? Do you consider your gambling money to be entertainment and once it’s gone you figure you’ve gotten your money’s worth, do you budget X dollars a day when you go gamble as in the envelope system+?
I’ll get more into even chance games in my next installment and I really hope do get some discussion going on this. Who knows, maybe collectively we’re smart enough to figure out the holy grail of gambling?
+ Envelope system, you’re there 4 days, your gambling budget is $1000, you put $250 in each of 4 envelopes, you start day one with envelope one and at the end of the day whether you are up or down, you put that days net win/loss back into envelope one and don’t touch it until you’re back home. You then repeat for the same actions for next 3 days.
